Cober, Routh Head To NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

Two members of the Clemson women’s swimming and diving team will represent the Tigers at the 2004 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships in College Station, TX beginning Thursday. Kim Routh will compete in three events and Kim Cober will compete in two events for Clemson at the national meet.

Routh will compete in the 200, 400 and 1500-meter free for the Tigers. This will be the second consecutive trip to the national meet for the sophomore from Sandusky, OH. At the 2003 NCAA Championships, Routh placed 22nd in the 1650 free (16:32.36) and recorded a time of 4:52.36 in the preliminary round of the 500 free.

Cober, a senior from Greensboro, NC, will represent the Tigers in the 400 and 1500m free at the 2004 NCAA Championships. This will be Cober’s first appearance at the national meet.

Preliminary sessions each day begin at noon, while the finals begin at 8:00 PM. The 400 free will be held on Thursday, the 200 free on Friday and the 1500 free on Saturday.
