Clemson’s Ty McCormack Earns ACC Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week Honors

GREENSBORO, NC – Clemson’s Ty McCormack was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week, while Wake Forest’s Anna Nosenko and North Carolina’s Kara Schaaf shared this week’s honors in Women’s Cross Country.

McCormack won his second meet of the season, finishing first at the 22-team Charlotte Invitational this past weekend. The Gainesville, Ga., freshman turned in a personal-best time of 24:37.4, topping the field of 206 athletes and out-distancing the runner-up, Tom Divinnie of meet champion Wake Forest, by 8.4 seconds.

Nosenko took individual titlist honors and led the Demon Deacons to a third-place finish at Saturday’s 25-team Charlotte Invitational. The Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, junior finished the 5k course in 16:38.4.

Schaaf led the Tar Heels to a second-place finish at Sunday’s 20-team Wisconsin Invitational. The Craven, Saskatchewan, junior was fourth overall, finishing the 5k course in 20:20 in a meet that featured six nationally-ranked teams.
