Clemson’s Scott Shaw Earns ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week Honors

Oct. 21, 2002

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson men’s cross country junior Scott Shaw earned this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week honor. It is the third conference performer of the week honor for Shaw, and he is the only ACC men’s cross country student-athlete to receive the accolade more than once this season. The East Syracuse, NY, native recorded a personal-best time of 23:53.79 over the 8K course at the Auburn Invitational, leading the Tigers to a second-place finish. Shaw’s personal-best time of 23:53.79 was his first finish under 24:00. Prior to this weekend’s meet, his personal-best time was 25:06 set at the Appalachian State Invitational in 2001.

Shaw and the Tiger men’s cross country team will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the 2002 ACC Championships in Atlanta, GA.
