Clemson’s Rollins and Virginia Tech’s Black Earn ACC Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, NC – Clemson junior Brianna Rollins has been named the ACC Indoor Track & Field Women’s Performer of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday. Virginia Tech junior Ronnie Black was named the ACC Men’s Performer of the Week.

Rollins won the 60-meter hurdles at the Virginia Tech Invitational with a NCAA-qualifying time of 8.07, the fastest mark in the nation this year. The Miami, Fla., native also helped Clemson’s 4×400 relay beat out a 21-team field and finish first with a time of 3:37.58.

Black won the high jump at the Virginia Tech Invitational with a school record and personal best mark of 7-3.25 (2.22m), beating a record that had stood since 1983. The native of Newport News, Va., now holds the school record in both the indoor and outdoor high jump, and stands with the fifth best height nationally in 2012.
