Clemson’s Julie Coin Wins First Round Match In ITA National Indoor Championships

FARMERS BRANCH, TX – Julie Coin competed for the Clemson women’s tennis team in the first round of the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Thursday morning. Coin is representing the Tigers in the singles competition of the tournament, which is being hosted by SMU and held at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, TX.

In the first round of the singles competition, Coin, the eighth-seeded singles player in the tournament, defeated SMU’s Jenny Lange by a score of 6-3, 7-6(2).

Coin is scheduled to play eighth-ranked Kate Pinchbeck of North Carolina in the second round of the tournament on Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. Earlier this season, Coin upset Pinchbeck by a score of 7-6(5), 6-2 to win the ITA Southeast Regional Championship.

News
