Clemson?s Doubles Team is Defeated at NCAAs

URBANA, IL – Jarryd Botha and David Vieyra of Alabama defeated Clemson’s doubles entry of Yannick Maden and Dominique Maden 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of the NCAA Doubles Tournament at Urbana, IL Thursday night.

The Alabama pair was ranked seventh nationally and is seeded 5-8 in the tournament.  Clemson’s Maden Brothers are ranked 11th nationally as a doubles team.  They finish the season with a 23-7 record overall this season. The Clemson duo had a successful season in 2013.  The Maden’s defeated the country’s number one-ranked doubles team of Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese from Tennessee in the NCAA team tournament almost two weeks ago.  The Maden Brothers were also the first doubles team of brothers at Clemson in 100 years.  In dual matches, they were 13-3 as a doubles team at number-one doubles. The NCAA Doubles tournament consists of the nation’s top 32 doubles teams.
