Clemson’s Coin, Lacelarie And Jayet To Compete In NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament

GAINESVILLE, FL – The NCAA Women’s Tennis Committee unveiled the draws for the 64-player NCAA Singles Championship and 32-team Doubles Championship on Sunday morning. Clemson’s Julie Coin, Alix Lacelarie and Laurence Jayet will compete in this year’s national championship tournament. Coin and Lacelarie will begin competition on Monday in the singles tournament, then Coin will pair with Jayet for the doubles tournament beginning on Tuesday. Coin, the Tigers’ top singles player, will take on Florida’s Lindsay Dawaf at 1:30 PM on Monday, May 19. Lacelarie is slated to play Southern California’s Maureen Diaz on Monday, May 19, at noon. In the first round of the doubles draw, Coin and Jayet will face Florida’s Jennifer Magley and Zerene Reyes. This will be the second meeting of this season for the doubles teams, as Magley and Reyes defeated Clemson’s Coin and Jayet by a score of 8-4 when the teams met on Mar. 21 in Gainesville.

The NCAA Singles Championship begins Monday morning at the Ring Tennis Complex at the University of Florida, while the NCAA Doubles Championship will get underway on Tuesday afternoon. One round of each event will be played every day, culminating with the finals on Saturday, May 24.
