Clemson’s Clement Reix Named ACC Men’s Tennis Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson junior Clement Reix helped the Tigers knock off two ranked opponents on the week, and has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Performer of the Week.

Reix helped 22nd-ranked Clemson upset No. 13 LSU on Thursday and top No. 61 South Alabama on Saturday. Against LSU, the Amiens, France, native defeated Mark Growcott, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles as Clemson picked up a 4-3 win.

Against South Alabama, Reix, the 100th-ranked singles player in the nation, earned a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 win over Monte Tucker at No. 2 singles. He also teamed with Jarmaine Jenkins to claim an 8-5 victory over Dias Doskarayev and Tucker at No. 1 doubles, helping the Tigers to another 4-3 win.

Clemson now stands 12-2 on the season, and will next take on Georgia State in Clemson, S.C., on Friday, March 3. The match is set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
