Clemson’s Chrissy Floyd Earns ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, NC–Clemson’s Chrissy Floyd and Holly Johnson of Florida State earned this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference’s Player and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively as announced by the league’s office Monday afternoon.

Senior guard Chrissy Floyd scored 26 points in Clemson’s 91-58 win over Furman, including 21 of the Tigers’ first 31 points. The Laurens, S.C. product was 11-19 from the field and 2-4 from three-point range. Floyd finished the game with three rebounds, seven assists and four steals in 33 minutes of play. Floyd is averaging 18.7 points per contest, shooting 48% from the floor.

Phoenix, Ariz., native Holly Johnson scored a career-high 15 points to accompany her five rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes of action in the Seminoles’ 75-46 victory against Akron. The 5-8 guard went 5-8 from the field (63%), 2-4 (50%) from behind the arc and 3-3 (100%) from the free throw line. Johnson is averaging 6.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game and has started all seven Florida State match-ups at the point guard position.
