Clemson’s Alix Lacelarie Falls In Second Round of NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships

STANFORD, CA – Clemson women’s tennis freshman Alix Lacelarie fell in the second round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Singles Championships on Tuesday evening. Lacelarie dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Megan Bradley of UCLA at the match held at the Taube Tennis Center in Stanford, CA. Lacelarie defeated Christina Fusano of California in the first round of the tournament by a score of 7-5, 1-6, 6-3 to advance to second-round play.

Lacelarie, a native of Villeneuve-Les-Beziers, France, was the Tigers’ top seed in 2002. Lacelarie finishes the season with an overall singles record of 28-13. During the regular season, she posted a 26-12 overall record and was 6-2 in the ACC at the number one singles flight. Also during the regular season, Lacelarie defeated six ranked singles players, and lost to two top-10 ranked players in three sets. She posted an 11-match consecutive singles winning streak from Mar. 9-Apr. 12, defeating four ranked players during that time.
