Clemson Women’s Track and Field Signs Two

Dec. 7, 2001

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s track and field team has signed two student-athletes for the 2002-2003 season. Jennifer Hooten and Allison Bradshaw will compete for the Lady Tigers next year.

Hooten, from Simpsonville, SC, will compete in the cross country and distance events for the Lady Tigers. She was a member of the AAAA South Carolina State Cross Country Championship team in 2000, and received varsity letters in track, cross country, strings and academics while at Mauldin High School. Hooten was named to the All-Greenville County and all-region cross country teams in 2000.

Bradshaw, a native of Southbury, CT, will compete in the throwing events for Clemson. She was the state open champion indoor and outdoor in 2001, and was selected All-New England both indoor and outdoor in 2001. Bradshaw was an all-conference and all-state honoree in the shot put in 2001. She was named Best in Field Hartford Public 2001, and was the Girls’ Track News Times Athlete of the Year in 2001. She set the Class MM shot put indoor record in 2001, as well as the Class M outdoor record. Bradshaw is the outdoor state record holder, and placed second in the 2001 Junior Olympics.

“We are very excited to be adding these two young ladies to our program next year,” said head coach Marcia Noad. “Jennifer will add much needed depth to our Cross Country and distance group. Allison will be joining a very successful and well-established throwing group. We are certain that they will both contribute positively to our team.”
