Clemson Women’s Tennis Wraps up Second Day at Furman Fall Classic

GREENVILLE, SC – Clemson’s Josipa Bek claimed the top flight championship to highlight play at the Furman Fall Classic on Saturday. The Tigers played two rounds of singles on the day, with four players recording wins in their respective placing matches.

Sunday’s action will feature several doubles matches, beginning at 9:00 am.

Bek, ranked #12 nationally, defeated North Carolina’s Zoe DeBruycker, 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 in the flight one championship, moving her to 30-0 on the season. Earlier in the day, she defeated #70 Anya Morgina from South Carolina, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2.

Keri Wong, ranked 39^th in the country, defeated Florida State’s #64 Katie Rybakova, 6-2, 6-2, and the Furman’s Monican Arguello to take fifth place in the flight one.

At flight two, Laurianne Henry split her matches on the day, finishing seventh in flight three.

Maria Belaya lost twice, finishing fourth in flight five.

Caroline Magnusson finished as the runner-up at flight six as she fell to Jennifer stone of UNC in the finals in three sets.
