Clemson Women’s Tennis Falls to #16 Michigan on Sunday

MADISON, WI – Clemson women’s tennis concluded play at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships with a 5-2 loss at the hands of #16 Michigan on Sunday. The Tigers fall to 9-2 on the season, and will have a week away from competition before traveling to Columbia to take on South Carolina on Sunday, Feb. 21.

Sophomore Ina Hadziselimovic at flight one, 9-8 (3-0).

Laurianne Henry picked up a win at flight five for the Tigers as well, winning the first set 7-5 and was leading in the second set, 2-1 before Mimi Nguyen retired due to injury. The junior is the reigning ACC Player of the Week and won each of her three singles matches in Madison during the weekend.

In other singles action, ninth-tanked Ina Hadziselimovic, 6-3, 6-3 at flight three.

The Tigers return to action on Sunday, Feb. 21 in a road contest with nationally-ranked South Carolina. Clemson is 2-0 against ranked SEC foes so far in 2010, with a home win against #20 Ole Miss and a road win at #4 Georgia.
