Clemson Women’s Swimming and Diving Finishes 43rd at NCAA Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s swimming and diving team finished 43rd at the NCAA Championships held this weekend at the Nassau County Aquatics Center in Long Island, NY. The Tigers concluded the meet with three points to finish in the top 45. Clemson has been ranked in the top 45 in the country for the last four years. The Tigers were ranked 35th in 1998, tied for 36th in 1999 and were 42nd in 2000.

Mandy Commons, Mandy Commons in the 100 breast. Commons also posted a 34th place finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:20.63. The 200 free relay team was 18th (1:34.65) and the 400 medley relay team finished 18th with a time of 3:46.25. Hider recorded a time of 23.39 to finish 35th in the 50 free while Thieler’s time of 23.67 was good for a 45th place finish. Hider also finished 44th in the 100 free with a time of 51.22 and Thieler finished 21st in the 100 fly (55.31).
