Clemson Women’s Soccer Team Falls to #12 Florida State in Tallahassee, FL Thursday Night

TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Clemson women’s soccer team fell to 12th-ranked Florida State by a score of 3-0 on Thursday night at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Tallahassee, FL. With the loss, the Tigers fall to 5-7 on the season (0-4 ACC), while the Seminoles improve to 10-2 overall (4-0 ACC) with the victory.

Florida State took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a goal scored by Amanda DaCosta at the 29:53 mark. The Seminoles tacked on two goals in the second half, by Tori Huster in the 59th minute and Janice Cayman in the 77th minute.

For the game, Clemson took three shots to Florida State’s 16, while the Tigers had one corner kick to the Seminoles’ nine. There were four fouls called on Clemson and one whistled on Florida State in the game. Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Arnold recorded seven saves for the Tigers and Kelsey Wys posted two for the Seminoles.

The Tigers will travel to Durham, NC on Sunday, October 10 to face 22nd-ranked Duke. It will be the second of four consecutive road games against top-25 competition for Clemson. The game between the Tigers and the Blue Devils is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM at Koskinen Stadium.
