Clemson Women Receive No. 7 Seed in ACC Volleyball Tournament

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team is seeded seventh entering the 2000 Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Tournament. The Tigers (13-17, 6-10 ACC) will play the eighth-seeded Maryland Terrapins (13-15, 4-12 ACC) Thursday, Nov. 16, at 5:00 p.m. at Reynolds Gym in Winston-Salem, NC. The winner of the Clemson-Maryland match will face second-seeded North Carolina (23-7, 13-2 ACC) in the second round on Friday at 4:30 pm.

The Tigers hold a 21-18 advantage in the all-time series with the Terrapins. Clemson has defeated Maryland the last seven times the teams have met, including 3-0 (15-11, 15-6, 15-8) and 3-1 (8-15, 15-8, 15-6, 15-9) wins over the Terps this season.

Jodi Steffes leads the Tigers in total kills (445) with a 4.24 kills per game average. Steffes also has a team-best 341 digs with 3.25 digs per game. Jessi Betcher is the assist leader with 1259 assists this season (11.77 assists per game). Betcher also leads the team in aces per game with a 0.32 per game average (29 total). Jackie Dalleska and Steffes have a team-best 76 blocks while Dalleska has a 0.80 blocks per game average.
