Clemson Wins Clemson Invitational

Final Stats

The Clemson Men’s Track and Field Team won the Clemson Invitational Saturday. The Tigers scored 136.5 points as a team, barely edging second place Charlotte, who had 135 points. Georgia Tech was third with 89.33, Auburn was fourth with 78, followed by fifth place Georgia with 77.50, sixth place Alabama with 62.66, and Virginia Tech who finished with 21 points. Event winners for the Tigers included Sean Reilly took home the 3000m event with a time of 8:36.31, Adam Linkenauger won the high jump with a mark of 6’11.75″, and Jason Bell won the triple jump with a leap of 50’8″.

Ryan Koontz finished second in the 60m high hurdles with a time of 7.98, and Brent Hobbs placed seventh with a time of 8.23. Lydell Perry finished eighth with a time of 8.50 after a judges’ decision. Lydell Perry, Rashad Gardner finished second with a time of 3:18.73. Koontz finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 6’6″. In the pole vault, Andrew Kessler was fifth with a mark of 15’7″.

Ryan Koontz had a mark of 15’1″ in the pole vault. Brent Hobbs had a throw of 42’9.5″ in the shot put.
