Clemson Will Play Virginia Tech on Friday at Clemson

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson Men’s Tennis team will play host to #21-ranked Virginia Tech on Friday and #1-ranked Virginia on Sunday as the Tigers play their last home matches of the 2010 season.

The Virginia Tech match on Friday will be at 5:00 p.m. and the Virginia match on Sunday will start at 1:00 p.m. Both of these ACC matches will be played at Clemson’s Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.

Clemson will enter Friday’s match with a 17-7 record overall and a 3-6 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Clemson is led in total singles victories by Kevin Galloway as he has a 23-10 record overall and a 19-5 mark in dual matches.

Virginia Tech has a 13-5 record overall and a 6-3 mark in league play.

The Hokies are led by #60-ranked Yoann Re and #66-ranked Luka Soemen.

Virginia has a 30-1 record overall and a 9-0 mark in league play. The Cavaliers will play at Georgia Tech on Saturday before coming to play the Tigers on Sunday.

This will be the 13th meeting between Clemson and Virginia Tech on the tennis courts. The Tigers lead the overall series 8-4. The series began in 1969.

Clemson and Virginia have met 58 previous times in the series. The Tigers lead the overall series that began in 1955, 41-17.
