Clemson vs. Syracuse Postgame Notes

TEAM NOTES

• Clemson and Syracuse met on the hardwood for the first time since 2007 on Sunday. The win was Syracuse’s first in three tries against Clemson.
• The Tiger defense held Syracuse to 57 points, nearly 15 below its season average entering the contest.
• Clemson had just one steal Sunday, tying the low under a Brad Brownell coached team.
• The Tigers won the battle on the boards, 31-29, on Sunday. It was the third straight game Clemson won the rebound margin.
• Clemson made just 14 field goals, the low under a Brownell coached team. The previous low was 15 on two occasions, at Duke last season and earlier this season at home against Florida State.
• Clemson’s bench outscored Syracuse, marking only the third time this season the Tigers lost when their reserves outscored the opposing reserves.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

• K.J. McDaniels posted his team-best fifth double-double Sunday with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
• McDaniels led the team in scoring, the 16^th time in 22 games he has led or tied for the team lead this season.
• Rod Hall scored on a four-point play in the first half, Clemson’s first since the 2011-12 season.
• Hall led the Tigers with four assists and now has 16 over the last three games.
• Josh Smith scored a bucket in the second half, his first points since the Wake Forest game on Jan. 18.
