• Clemson recorded its first ACC road win of the year in the victory at Georgia Tech. It gave Clemson a season sweep against the Yellow Jackets, Clemson’s second sweep of the Yellow Jackets in the last three years, or since current juniors Andre Young and Tanner Smith came to Clemson. Clemson is now 5-2 since those two natives of Georgia came to Clemson. • Young made 4-6 three-point shots in the game and is now 18-30 in his career on three-point shots against Georgia Tech. • Clemson swept ACC rival Georgia Tech in basketball and defeated the Yellow Jackets in football this year. This is just the third time in history Clemson has done that in the same academic year. The other years are 1986-87 and 1996-97. • When Clemson defeated Georgia Tech Saturday it gave Head Coach Bill Foster, Cliff Ellis, Larry Shyatt and Rick Barnes all had five in their first seasons. • When Clemson won at Georgia Tech it ended a streak of 24 consecutive ACC road losses for first year Clemson head coaches. The last Clemson first-year coach to win an ACC road game was Rick Barnes at NC State on Jan. 28, 1995. • Clemson had a 22-0 run against Georgia Tech in the first half of Saturday’s victory. The Tigers were 8-9 from the field and held Tech to 0-7 shooting and seven turnovers during that 22-0 run. • The 22-0 run is the longest on record for a Clemson team in an ACC game. The previous best was a 18-point run at Virginia Tech two years ago. It is the longest against any opponent since Nov. 12, 2007 when Clemson had a 26-point scoring run in the season opener against Furman. The record is 34 consecutive points scored by the Tigers against Armstrong State on December 17, 1986. • It is interesting to note that Horace Grant played during Clemson’s 34-point streak against Armstrong State in 1986 and his nephew, Jerai Grant was the top scorer for the Tigers (10 points) during the 22-point scoring run at Georgia Tech. • Clemson held Georgia Tech to 56 points in the victory on Saturday. It was the fourth straight game an ACC opponent had failed to score at least 60 points against the Tigers, a first in Clemson history. • Clemson made 7-14 three-point shots in Saturday’s game and is 18-28 (.621) on three-point shooting in two games against Georgia Tech this year. The Tigers were 11-14, second best in Clemson history (min of 10 made) in the first game with the Yellow Jackets. • Jerai Grant scored a career high tying 20 points in the win at Georgia Tech. The only other game in his four-year career he has scored at least 20 points was in the first meeting with the Yellow Jackets this year. Uncle Horace also played well against Georgia Tech in his career. He scored 30 points against Georgia Tech in his Senior Night game in 1987. That was not Horace’s career high however. He had four 33-point games against other opponents. • Clemson has had 20 turnovers just twice this year and both have been in wins against Georgia Tech.
