Clemson Volleyball to Travel to #23 Georgia Tech On Tuesday

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team will travel to #23 Georgia Tech on Tuesday, Nov. 5 to take on the Yellow Jackets. The first serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.

Clemson enters the match with a 15-12 overall record and a 6-6 mark in conference play. The Tigers split last weekend’s matches, losing 3-0 to 13th-ranked North Carolina, but defeating NC State, 3-1.

The Tigers are led by sophomore Lori Ashton who has tallied 409 kills, a 3.09 kills per game average and a .380 hitting percentage. Junior Marija Zoric is second on the team with a .289 hitting percentage and is the team’s top blocker with 113 blocks (27 solo) and a 1.13 blocks per game average. Sophomore Ryane Beasley has posted 321 kills this season, and sophomore Leslie Finn has recorded 317 and a 3.11 kills per game average. Senior Jessi Betcher has dished out a team-best 1,260 assists for a 12.00 per game average, and leads the team with 330 digs. Sophomore Stephanie Haskell is second on the team with 249 digs, and freshman Carly Hill has served up 40 aces for a 0.41 per game average.

The Yellow Jackets are 23-5 entering Tuesday’s match against Clemson. Lynette Moster leads the team with 438 kills, a 5.28 kills per game and a .353 hitting percentage. Lauren Sauer is second on the team with 343 kills and a 3.27 kills per game average. Alexandra Preiss has recorded 321 kills and is the team’s top blocker with 123 total blocks (18 solo), while Jayme Gergen is second on the team in blocks with 117 (seven solo). Kele Eveland has handed out 1,398 assists for a 13.19 per game average, and Marissa Aston has tallied a team-best 313 digs for a 2.93 per game average.

The Tigers boast a 27-12 all-time record against the Yellow Jackets, and hold a 9-7 advantage over Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Earlier this season, Georgia Tech outlasted Clemson in a 3-2 thriller at Jervey Gym.
