Clemson Volleyball To Play Florida State Saturday

The Clemson volleyball team will travel to Tallahassee, FL on Saturday, Nov. 9 to take on Florida State. The Tigers’ and Seminoles’ first serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.

The Tigers enter the match with a 15-13 overall record and 6-7 mark in ACC play. Most recently, Clemson dropped a four-game match to 24th-ranked Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Florida Stat is 18-8 and 9-3 in league play entering this weekend’s matches with Georgia Tech on Friday night and Clemson on Saturday.

The Tigers are led by sophomore Lori Ashton who has tallied 428 kills, a 3.93 kills per game average and a .377 hitting percentage. Junior Marija Zoric is second on the team with a .287 hitting percentage and is the team’s top blocker with 118 blocks (27 solo) and a 1.13 blocks per game average. Sophomore Ryane Beasley has posted 333 kills this season, and sophomore Leslie Finn has recorded 340 and a 3.21 kills per game average. Senior Jessi Betcher has dished out a team-best 1,315 assists for a 12.06 per game average, and leads the team with 344 digs. Sophomore Stephanie Haskell is second on the team with 266 digs, and freshman Carly Hill has served up 40 aces for a 0.40 per game average.

Kristin Frye leads the Seminoles with 373 kills, 3.62 kills per game average and a .313 hitting percentage. Frye also leads the team in defensive saves with 206. Erica Bunch is second on the team with 334 kills and a 3.44 kills per game average, and Aisha Carr leads the Seminoles at the net with 107 blocks (19 solo) for a 1.10 blocks per game average. Jennifer Anderson has handed out 1,333 assists with a 12.94 assists per game average, and Alex Sevillano has recorded a team-best 51 service aces and a 0.50 per game average.

Clemson is 11-17 all-time against the Florida State, including a 3-2 win over the Seminoles on Oct. 5 in Jervey Gym. Under head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover the Tigers have posted an 11-11 record, and are 3-10 all-time against Florida State in Tallahassee.
