Clemson Volleyball To Face Georgia Tuesday

CLEMSON, SC-The Clemson volleyball team will play host to SEC rival Georgia on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Jervey Gym.

Clemson (5-7, 1-0 ACC) is coming off a 3-2 win over NC State on Saturday. Georgia (8-3, 1-0 SEC) opened its conference slate with a 3-2 win over Auburn Friday night in Athens.

Although the Georgia lead the overall series 28-8, Clemson has won the last two meetings between the teams. Under current head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover, the Tigers claimed victories in ’98 and ’99, while the Bulldogs won the matches in ’93-’97.

When the teams last met in Jervey Gym in 1998, Clemson took a 7-15, 13-15, 15-2, 15-6, 15-9 comeback victory over the Bulldogs, outhitting Georgia .232 to .071 in the contest. The Tigers had 18 team blocks in the match.

Admission to all home Clemson volleyball matches is free.
