Clemson Volleyball Signs Junior College Standout

April 11, 2012

CLEMSON, SC – Head Clemson Volleyball Coach Jolene Jordan Hoover announced the signing of Beta Dumancic to a letter of intent on Wednesday. Dumancic, a native of Osijek, Croatia, has spent the previous two seasons at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, MO, where she was a NJCAA Second-Team All-American in 2010 and a Region XVI All-Conference selection as a sophomore in 2011. “We are extremely thrilled that Beta is joining our team and program,” said Hoover. “She will bring added experience and depth to our veteran team and compliment our returners well.  Beta’s addition will open up some different options for us offensively, and her strong blocking presence will help us defensively.”Dumancic recorded 686 kills in her two seasons with the Vikings, and hit .383 as a middle blocker. She measures in at 6-4, and will give Hoover another option on the front line, along with returning All-ACC selections Sandra Adeleye and Alexa Rand. Dumancic joins Kalah Jones, an outside hitter from Fayetteville, GA, as the two members of the incoming class. The Tigers lose just one starter from last season’s team that went 20-11 and 12-8 in the ACC.
