Clemson Volleyball Schedule Announced

CLEMSON, SC – The 2001 Clemson volleyball schedule was released today by head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover.

Hoover’s 2001 team will face a challenging schedule that includes nine teams that were participants in the 2000 NCAA Volleyball Championships. Colorado, Loyola Marymount, Oral Roberts, South Carolina, South Florida and Hofstra, as well as ACC rivals Duke, North Carolina and Georgia Tech competed in the 2000 Tournament.

The Tigers, who return five of six starters from the 2000 team, open the season at the University of Colorado Tournament where the Tigers will face Colorado, Loyola Marymount and Oral Roberts. Clemson returns from Colorado to play the University of Georgia in Athens on Sept. 5 before playing host to the annual Big Orange Bash in which the Tigers will face Appalachian State, Wright State and UNC Wilmington. Clemson continues a challenging early-season schedule on Sept. 12 as it opens its home slate, playing host to in-state rival South Carolina. The Tigers then travel to the University of South Florida Sept. 14-15 for a tournament in which they will face St. Louis, Hofstra and host South Florida.

Following the South Florida tournament, Clemson opens its ACC schedule as it plays host to Wake Forest on Sept. 18. The Tigers will also play host to Florida State and Duke before their road series beginning with Georgia Tech on Sept. 28.

Clemson will compete at the ACC Championships Nov. 15-18, hosted by Florida State, then conclude its regular season schedule with a Nov. 23 match at the University of Kentucky.
