Clemson Volleyball Defeats NC State 3-0

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson volleyball team defeated North Carolina State Friday night in straight games, 3-0 (30-15, 30-15, 30-16). Clemson improves to 8-14 overall, and 3-10 in the ACC, while NC State falls to 6-17 overall, 1-12 in conference play.

Clemson had three players hit over .350 for the match. The Tigers were led by Lori Ashton with 10 kills and seven blocks (one solo). Senior Jodi Steffes tallied nine kills and finished with a .350 hitting percentage, while senior Meredith Kirtland hit .500 for the match. Freshman Leslie Finn recorded eight kills with a team-best 11 digs. Junior Jessi Betcher posted a match-high 23 assists with six digs for the Tigers.

The Wolfpack was led by Alison Kraeger with seven kills and eight digs. Kraeger also had a match-best two service aces. Lindi Sheppard tallied 15 assists, while Sarah Ensminger led NC State at the net with three blocks.

The Tigers will play host to the University of North Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2:00 PM in Jervey Gym. Sunday afternoon is Senior Day, and there will be free t-shirts given to the first 200 fans. Admission is free to all Clemson home volleyball matches.
