Clemson Notes:

  • Sophomore Nelly Perry has scored 12 or more points in her last seven games, she is averaging 14.7 points per game this season (10th in the ACC) & 15.7 points per game in conference play.
  • Freshman Danielle Edwards was named ACC Rookie of the Week (Dec. 28) following her 20-point performance in a win over UNC-Asheville on Dec. 21; she is the first Clemson rookie to garner the award since 2012-13.
  • Edwards (32.5) and Perry (32.4) rank seventh and eighth respectively in the ACC in minutes played per game.
  • Freshman Aliyah Collier is the Tigers’ leading rebounder on the season (5.2 rpg) and in league play (6.7 rpg); the rookie is also Clemson’s second leading scorer in ACC play (9.0 ppg).
  • Clemson has utilized ten different starting lineups this season; Danielle Edwards and Justice Wright have appeared in every starting lineup.

Opponent & Series Notes:

  • Clemson is looking for its third consecutive win over Virginia Tech and first win in Blacksburg since Jan. 31, 2013.
  • The Tigers lead the overall series with the Hokies 10-8 and won the last meeting between the two teams by a final score of 63-54 (OT) on Jan. 2, 2015 in Clemson.
  • Virginia Tech is led in scoring by senior Hannah Young (10.8 ppg) and in rebounding by redshirt-freshman Regan Magarity (6.2 rpg).
  • The Hokies rank first in the ACC in scoring defense, only allowing 46.9 points per game this season.
