Clemson Notes:

  • The Tigers (10-9, 3-5 ACC) are coming off of two-straight ACC wins, a 4-3 win over NC State on March 30 in Charlotte, N.C. and a 5-2 victory over Notre Dame on April 1 in Anderson, S.C. Juniors Marie-Alexandre Leduc and Fernanda Navarro and senior Daniela Ruizeach won both of their singles matches against the Wolfpack and the Irish.
  • Leduc is ranked 20th in the nation in singles. She has a 18-7 overall record, a 9-4 record in dual matches and a 4-3 mark in ACC play. She has played all 13 of her dual matches at No. 1 singles, and has eight wins over nationally-ranked opponents on the season.
  • Leduc and Navarro are ranked 44th nationally in doubles. The pair is 18-5 overall, 10-2 in dual matches and 5-0 in ACC dual matches, and has currently won eight matches in a row.
  • Clemson has won the doubles point in 12 of its 19 matches on the season. The Tigers have an 8-4 record in matches in which they win the doubles point, and a 2-5 mark in matches in which they lose the doubles point.
  • Navarro was named ACC Player of the Week on Feb. 20, for her performances the week of Feb. 12-18. She was undefeated in singles and doubles play in two matches, and she clinched the Tigers’ 4-3 upset over 11th-ranked Wake Forest on Feb. 18.
  • Ruiz was named a recipient of the ACC’s Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship as announced by the conference office on Feb. 28. Ruiz will graduate from Clemson in May 2018 with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and has already begun taking classes toward earning a master’s degree in that field.
