Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (3-0) is coming off of a 58-47 victory over Georgia Southern, which saw the Tigers’ bench combine to score 40 points, led by freshman Kobi Thornton who posted her first career double-double (16 pts, 11 reb).
  • The Tigers are 3-0 for the first time under Audra Smith and the first time since the 1998-99 season. Clemson opened the year 11-0 in 1998-99.
  • Junior Alexis Carter leads Clemson in scoring with a 12.3 points per game average, which included a career-best 20-point performance against Western Carolina on Nov. 13.
  • Thornton leads the Tigers in rebounding with an 8.7 rpg average, to go along with 11.0 ppg average, which is third-best on the team.
  • Juniors Nelly Perry and Victoria Cardaci are both from the state of New Jersey. Perry hails from Camden, while Cardaci is from Holmdel.
  • Perry leads the team in minutes played (33.3 minutes per game) and is second on the team in scoring (12.0 ppg).
  • Cardaci has connected on eight threes in the last two games. She is 8-for-20 on the season, for a team-best .400 three-point shooting percentage.
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards has 11 assists and 12 steals, and leads the Tigers in both categories through the first three contests.

Series Information:

  • Saturday’s meeting will be the first ever between Clemson and Monmouth on the basketball court.
