Clemson To Play Winthrop Sunday in Men’s Exhibition Soccer

CLEMSON, SC-The Clemson men’s soccer team will play at Winthrop in Rock Hill, SC in an exhibition match Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m.

The Tigers will open the 2008 season next Friday night as the Tigers play South Carolina in Columbia at 7:00 p.m.

Clemson returns 11 letter winners and six starters from last year’s team. Head Coach Trevor Adair is entering his 14th season at Clemson and has won 167 matches. For his career he has won 201 matches.

Tommy Drake is the Tigers’ leading returning scorer as he had five goals and three assists for 13 points as a freshman in 2007. Joseph Bendik was the Tigers’ goalkeeper in 2007. He had a 1.50 GAA average and 93 saves in 2007.
