Clemson to play in Exhibition Tournament

CLEMSON, SC–The Clemson men’s soccer team will play St. John’s at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, August 18 at the Akron Tournament, in Akron, OH. Creighton will play Akron at 7:30 p.m. All of the matches in this tournament are exhibition. Clemson will open its season next Friday at South Carolina.

On Sunday the consolation game will be played at 12:00 p.m. and the championship game will be played at 2:30 p.m.

Clemson is ranked fifth, while Creighton is ranked eighth. Akron is ranked ninth, and St.John’s is ranked 17th.

Clemson adanced to the NCAA Final Four last season and finished the year with a 15-6-3 record overall. Dane Richards led the Tigers in scoring with 12 goals and eight assists for 32 points. Mark Buchholz had five goals and three assists for 13 points.
