Clemson To Participate in the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s tennis team will participate in the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, AL. The Tigers will play Tennessee on Friday, Alabama on Saturday, and Auburn on Sunday. Both the Tennessee and Alabama matches will start at 2:30 PM ET with the Auburn match time to be determined. The matches will take place at the Lagoon Park and the O’Conner Tennis Centers in Montgomery, AL.

Clemson, ranked 66th nationally and has a 3-3 record overall record this season. Clemson’s number-one singles player Yannick Maden, who has a 16-4 record overall and a 5-1 mark in dual matches, leads the Tigers. Maden is ranked 75th nationally.

Tennessee is ranked 21st nationally, Alabama is ranked 49th and Auburn is ranked 14th according to the latest ITA poll.

This will be the 22nd meeting between Clemson and Tennessee on the tennis courts. The Volunteers lead the overall series that began in 1965, 14-7. This will be the 16th meeting between the Tigers and Alabama. The Crimson Tide leads the overall series 11-4. Auburn and Clemson have met just five times in men’s tennis. Auburn leads the series 3-2. Clemson’s first matches with Auburn and Alabama occurred in the 1941 season.
