Clemson to Host Tail of the Tiger on Lake Hartwell Saturday

Sept. 15, 2006

The Clemson rowing team will play host to the Tail of the Tiger event Saturday morning at Lake Hartwell. It marks the first racing action of the fall conditioning season for the Tiger rowing program, which is in its ninth year as a varsity sport at Clemson. The Tigers will face club teams from Clemson and Georgia on Saturday. The racing is set to get underway at 9:00 AM. Last season in this event, Clemson swept all the races on the three-mile course.

The first race of the morning will be the varsity 8+, which Clemson has three boats entered for. The Tigers will also participate in doubles and pair racing at 10:00 AM. Only the Clemson University Rowing Association (CURA – club team) will compete against the Tigers in either of those races.

Clemson’s final racing of the day will take place at approximately 11:05 AM with the varsity 4+ boats. Clemson has three entered, while CURA and Georgia’s club team will have two boats apiece in that event.
