Clemson Ticket Information for 2011 ACC Football Championship Game

Nov. 17, 2011

The Clemson Athletic Department, IPTAY and the Athletic Ticket Office announced today the required limits set for the distribution of Clemson’s allotment of 10,000 tickets for the 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Football Championship game to be held in Charlotte, NC on December 3, 2011 at 8:00 p.m.

The IPTAY/Ticket Office deadline for requesting ACC Championship tickets was this past Monday, November 14. Throughout the process, Clemson received over 20,000 ticket requests from IPTAY members and football season ticket holders. The number of ticket requests from IPTAY members was measured against the number of available tickets to determine if any limits need to be set.

As per Athletic Department policy, tickets for any postseason game involving Clemson are allocated to the sports’ student-athletes and coaches, Tiger Band, Clemson students and athletic support staff first. After these groups’ tickets are allocated, Clemson is left with approximately 8,000 tickets. Those tickets are allocated based on IPTAY Priority Points. After a tremendous amount of calculation and in an effort to assist as many IPTAY members as possible, the Athletic Department has determined to place the following limits on ticket orders. Please note the limits were based on the requests after the deadline and orders cannot be changed or amended now that the Clemson allotment is sold out.

Six tickets requested: 266 IPTAY priority points and aboveFour tickets requested: 265-191 IPTAY priority pointsTwo tickets requested: 98-190 IPTAY priority points

After all IPTAY members’ requests were filled with the six tickets maximum above 266 IPTAY priority points, the Club Seats ($150) and Lower Level Sideline Seats ($90) were sold out. Any IPTAY member that had below 266 IPTAY Priority Points and requested the Club or Lower Level, seats were allocated to the Lower Level End Zone seating. Ticket orders were then filled in the Upper Level with the remaining priority point totals of 98-190.

As background information, it is important to understand that over 2,400 IPTAY members were able to receive tickets to the ACC Championship game. The top 500 IPTAY members that requested tickets were allocated six tickets in the area that was requested. The next 500 IPTAY members that requested tickets were provided four tickets in either the Lower Level Sideline or Upper Level, whichever area was requested within their IPTAY Priority Point total. The remaining Upper Level seats were allocated to 1,400 IPTAY members within the IPTAY Priority Point total above.

ACC Championship tickets will be shipped starting on Wednesday, November 23 via UPS. For those IPTAY members that are attending the ACC Championship game, rooms are still available and can be reserved by going to ClemsonTigers.com and clicking on the Clemson Sports Travel button. In addition, ticket orders for Clemson’s postseason bowl opportunities are still available and can be reserved through your specific IPTAY order form, or information is available online at ClemsonTigers.com.
