Clemson Swimming and Diving To Take on the Tar Heels Sunday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel to Chapel Hill, NC this weekend to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels at Maurice J. Koury Natatorium on Sunday.

Both the men and women’s teams are coming off convincing victories over Miami (FL) and Rutgers. The men defeated the Hurricanes by a score of 127-43, and the Scarlet Knights by a score of 118-86. The Clemson women dominated the Hurricanes by a score of 133-68 and defeated Rutgers by a score of 113.5-89.5.

Tiger sophomore Kate Walker earned ACC Swimmer-of-the-Week accolades for her part in the victories last weekend. Walker won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.59, and led off the winning 400 medley relay team that posted a time of 3:54.86.

Rob Kummer swam well for the Tigers in Miami as well as he won the 200 fly with a time of 1:54.11, and helped the 400 medley relay team to a first-place time of 3:27.11.

The first event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
