Clemson Swimming And Diving Teams Back In Action This Weekend

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson swimming and diving teams will return to action on Saturday when they participate in a tri-meet hosted by Miami University. The Tigers and the Hurricanes will be joined by the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers University with the first event scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Whitten Union Pool.

So far this season, the Clemson women have been led by junior All-American Mandy Commons and fellow junior Jenna Burtch. Commons set a new school record in the 200 breaststroke at the Georgia Invitational with a time of 2:16.17. Burtch also had an excellent showing at the Georgia Invitational as she posted lifetime bests in the 50 free (23.18), 100 free (50.33), and 200 free (1:49.36).

The Tiger men are led by junior Gregor Govse. Govse posted the second fastest time in Clemson history in the 200 breast with a time of 2:00.36, at the Georgia Invitational and is undefeated in the breastroke events that have been held in the dual-meet format.
