Clemson Swimmers Among ACC Leaders

CLEMSON, SC – Several Clemson swimmers rank among the ACC leaders, including freshman Cami Sink, who has the fastest time in the league this season in the 400 IM (4:15.33). Sink ranks second in the 200 IM, recording a time of 2:01.05. Freshman Katie Mizell leads the conference in the 200 fly (2:02.45) and ranks second in the 100 fly (55.99).

Senior Wendy Henson leads the league in the 500 free with a time of 4:49.28 and ranks second in the 200 free (1:49.35). Junior Jennifer Mihalik ranks first in the 200 back (1:59.31), third in the 50 free (23.43) and second in the 100 free, having recorded a time of 50.92. Senior Kathy Lowry is second in the 50 free (23.35) and third in the 100 free (51.09).

Senior Amy Suppinger ranks fourth in the 100 fly with a time of 56.03 and is sixth in the 200 breaks (2:20.40). Senior Lisa Bartlett ranks fourth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.15 and is fifth in the 400 IM (4:25.05). Freshman Emily Hustead is seventh in the 500 free (4:57.73), eighth in the 1000 free (10:16.14) and ninth in the 200 fly (2:04.43).

In the diving events, freshman Micheala Smith ranks fifth with a score of 346.85 on the 1-meter board and seventh with a score of 389.60 on the 3-meter board.

The Clemson women’s team, ranked 22nd nationally, has the fastest time in the conference in the 400 free relay (3:23.75) and ranks second in the 200 free relay (1:33.72).

The Clemson men’s team has the second-fastest time in the ACC for the 200 free relay (1:22.45) and the third-fastest time in the 800 free relay (6:47.99). Freshman Tim Collis ranks third in the 100 back (50.16), sixth in the 100 fly (50.26), seventh in the 200 back (1:50.10) and is tied with Clemson’s Mike Pridemore for tenth in the 50 free (20.93).

Alex Ioanovici is third with a time of 45.40 in the 100 free and ranks ninth in the 50 free (20.86) Freshman Kenny Roberts is eighth in the 100 free with a time of 45.77.

Freshman Shawn Wallace ranks fourth in the 200 breast (2:03.54) and is sixth in the 100 breast with a time of 56.79. Junior Adam Porter has the fourth-fastest time in the 100 back, having recorded a time of 50.77.

The Tigers will play host to N.C. State Saturday, January 30 at 1 p.m.
