Clemson Student-Athletes Receive Top Six for Service Award

The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced the winners of the Top Six for Service Award for 2010-11. The award, given in the spring to six student-athletes at each conference school, recognizes student-athletes who excel in the classroom and the community. Criteria for the award requires an eligible student-athlete to complete a minimum of six different events during the academic year. Clemson announced its award winners prior to the Clemson vs. Georgia Tech baseball game on Sunday, May 1.

The winners are:

Brooke George (Junior, Swimming, Orlando, FL) *Victoria Graham (Senior, Rowing, Summerville, SC) Chad Holt (Senior, Cross Country, Greenville, SC) *Taylor Hoynacki (Junior, Rowing, Tega Cay, SC) Deanna Piper (Junior, Swimming, Columbia, SC) Cassie Self (Junior, Diving, Fairfax, VA)* – denotes a repeat winner

Congratulations to these student-athletes, who are all members of the Solid Orange Squad, which involves volunteering at school assembly programs and the Be a T.I.G.E.R! Field Day. The student-athletes also work in their churches, for their university professional organizations and on projects such as Special Olympics, Relay for Life, Solid Green and Clemson Sweep.
