Clemson Soccer Camp Dates Announced by Men’s Head Coach Mike Noonan

Jan. 23, 2012

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson Men’s Soccer Head Coach Mike Noonan has announced the Clemson Tiger Soccer Camp dates and specifics for 2012. This year, four different camps will be held for different age and skill levels. Camp information, prices and contact information are as follows:

2012 The Clemson Tiger Soccer Camp Program

June 18-22 – 2012 Kid’s Kickin Mini Camp ($90.00) Come spend the week with the Clemson Men’s Soccer team at the Kids Kickin Mini Camp. A co-ed program for ages 5 to 12, the daily training focus will include teaching techniques and tricks on the ball to help you become a better player. Every session, campers will play in small group games, fun contests and activities while having a good time at ALL times!

Please note that all participants are required to bring a ball to every session.

June 25-28, 2012 – 3rd-8th Grade Pre-Academy Camp ($515.00 overnight/$485.00 commuter) A one-of-a-kind experience tailored to the development of the pre-academy level player. The camp will provide the youth player with the specific training needs for their age and ability. This program will emphasize technical skill development and small group tactics to help the younger player recognize situations presented in the later 11v11 evening matches. A terrific camp experience for the youth player ready to begin taking the game to the next competitive level. This camp is a residential camp. However, commuters are welcome!

June 29-July 2, 2012 – 10th-12th Grade Elite Week College Prep Camp ($595.00 overnight/$565.00 commuter) The four day camp will feature applicants who are rising juniors or seniors from around the country and many parts of the world. The camp is geared towards developing the “total” soccer athlete who is committed to performing at the most demanding levels. This training ground will focus on “match playing” between the eight teams in a competitive tournament setting. Each evening there will be an additional All Star game based on your daily performance. Small sided games and training will supplement the matches with the emphasis being placed on small and large group tactics as well as refining technical skills at pace.

In addition the camp will provide daily seminars covering topics ranging from strength and conditioning for the elite player, the psychology of success, time management skills for the college athlete, short and long term goal setting, positive self motivation and how to succeed in the admissions and recruiting process. There will be a college evaluation for each camper done by our staff and a college recruiting book will be compiled and given to each of our visiting college coaches.

Finally, this is a rigorous “elite” program that does not guarantee a college scholarship or admission to an elite school. It is designed for those who want to compare themselves with the best. The staff will assure that opportunities will be equal but there is no quantifiable equality in playing time or All Star Match appearances. This is up to the sole discretion of the teaching staff.

As part of the application submission, we request a soccer résumé and player recommendation written by a regional, state level or premier club coach. Your application is not complete until such materials are provided.

July 19-22, 2012 – 8th-12th Grade College Prep and Team Week ($515.00 overnight/$485.00 commuter) This highly competitive residential week, although intense, provides a positive learning environment for each participant. Small and full-sided matches combined with individual technical and tactical training will challenge each camper to play at a faster pace. Although this camp is not limited to teams, it is a terrific opportunity for a team to receive first-rate instruction by our quality coaching staff.

High School State Championship teams from various states have participated and benefited from this unique environment. A challenging curriculum and cutting edge training methods will enable each athlete to go home with new and improved skills and the motivation to maximize their potential. A unique feature of this camp is a “Futures” panel that will discuss playing opportunities in select clubs, ODP, college and beyond.
