Clemson receives NCAA Tournament Bid

CLEMSON RECEIVES NCAA MEN’S SOCCER TOURNAMENT BID

CLEMSON, SC-The Clemson men’s soccer team received an NCAA Tournament bid as announced by the NCAA Monday afternoon.

Clemson will play at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA on Friday November 21, at 7:00 p.m. at the Virginia Tech Soccer Field. The Tigers will be making their 24th NCAA Tournament appearances since the sport was started at Clemson in 1967.

This will also be the seventh time in Head Coach Trevor Adair’s nine-year career at Clemson that he has led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament. Clemson has advanced to the NCAA Final Eight in the last two seasons. Adair has led the Tigers to four Elite Eights and six Final 16s.

Clemson has a 9-7-3 record overall and finished with a 2-4 mark in the ACC. The Tigers are led in scoring by Charlie Roberts and Andre Borges. Both players have five goals and one assist each for 11 points. Paul Souders has three goals and four assists for 10 points. Goalkeeper Phil Marfuggi has 52 saves and a1.25 goals allowed average.

The Tigers are 4-1-1 in the last six matches of the season. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.
