Clemson Ranked in the Top Six in Soccer Polls.

CLEMSON, SC–Clemson is ranked fourth by the NSCAA and fifth by Soccer America in men’s soccer polls released Tuesday. The Tigers are also ranked fifth by Soccertimes.com and sixth by College Soccer News.

Clemson will play number-one ranked Maryland Friday night at Historic Riggs Field. Maryland is ranked number-one by three of the four polls. The Terrapins are ranked number-one by the NSCAA and fourth by Soccer America. Maryland is ranked number-one by the College Soccer News and Soccertimes.com rankings.

This will mark a battle between two top-five teams at Historic Riggs Field. The last meeting between two top five teams at Riggs occurred on December 6, 1998, when Indiana defeated the Tigers 2-1 in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of Eight. Clemson was ranked number one and Indiana was ranked second.

Clemson is led in scoring by Dane Richards with five goals and one assist for 11 points. Frederico Moojen has four goals and one assist for nine points. The Tigers are now 4-0 on the year and are off to their best start since the 1998 season.
