Clemson, SC –

Clemson is ranked #10 in Baseball America’s 2011 preseason poll, released on Thursday. Florida is atop the Baseball America poll, followed by #2 UCLA, #3 TCU, #4 Vanderbilt, and #5 Oklahoma. Other ACC teams ranked in the top 25 include #12 Florida State, #15 Virginia, and #24 Miami (FL). It marks the 23rd consecutive season that Clemson has earned a preseason top-25 ranking by one of the three major polls.

The Tigers had a 45-25 overall record and 18-12 ACC regular-season mark in 2010. Clemson won the ACC Atlantic Division title before capturing championships in the Auburn Regional and Clemson Super Regional. The Tigers went 2-2 in the College World Series and finished tied for third in the nation.

Clemson returns 20 lettermen, including preseason All-Americans John Hinson (3B), Brad Miller (SS), and Jeff Schaus (OF). The Tigers will open the 2011 season on February 18 against Eastern Michigan at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
