Clemson Prepares For Penn State

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Clemson women’s basketball team will play sixth-ranked Penn State at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, SC Sunday afternoon in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge. Tip-off time is set for 1:30 p.m.

North Carolina will play Michigan State after the Clemson-Penn State game.

Clemson is 7-2 overall after a 64-41 win over Winthrop Friday night. The Lady Tigers are led in scoring by freshman Chrissy Floyd with a 12.6 ppg. average. Erin Batth leads Clemson in rebounding with a 7.8 rpg. mark.

Penn State is ranked sixth by the USA Today poll and ninth by the Associated Press. Penn State is led in scoring by Maren Walseth with a 13.0 ppg. Average. Andrea Garner leads the team in rebounding with a 8.9 rpg. mark. Penn State has a 6-2 record overall and is averaging 80.2 ppg. this season.

Clemson and Penn State will be meeting for the third time in history. Penn State leads the overall series 2-0. Clemson and Penn State met in the very first NCAA Tournament game ever played on March 12, 1982. Penn State won this game 96-75 at University Park, PA.
