Clemson Men’s Track And Field To Compete In Blacksburg, VA

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s track and field team will compete at the Kroger Invitational Friday and Saturday in Blacksburg, VA. The meet is scheduled to begin with the pentathlon 60m hurdles at 11:00 a.m., followed by the triple jump at 5:00 p.m. and the 60m hurdle trials at 5:20 p.m. The distance medley relay will wrap up the first day’s competition at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, the meet continues with the pole vault at 10:00 a.m., and the running events begin with the 400m dash at 11:25 a.m. The meet is scheduled to conclude at 5:00 p.m. with the 4x400m relay.

Red-shirt freshman Dwight Thomas will be making his college debut after competing in the 2000 Olympics and World Championships. Thomas is ranked fourth in the nation in the 60m and third in the 200m by Trackwire entering his first collegiate meet.

Clemson is ranked tied for 11th in the first Trackwire 25 poll. The Tigers finished tied for 10th at the 2001 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, AR.
