Clemson Men’s Track and Field – NCAA Final Results

EUGENE, OR – The Clemson men’s track and field team concluded competition on Saturday in the 2001 NCAA Outdoor Championships held at Hayward Field. The Tigers finished tied for 57th with three team points.

The only Tiger to compete in Saturday’s finals was Ato Modibo. The junior from Beltsville, MD, earned All-American honors in the 400m dash as he finished eighth with a time of 46.82. He picked up the Tigers’ third point with his finish.

Earlier in the week, Andy Giesler, Clemson’s senior decathlete from Loveland, OH, scored the Tigers’ other two points with a seventh-place finish. He scored 7498 points to garner All-American honors. Giesler completes his career at Clemson as a 2001 All-American and a two-time ACC Champion in the decathlon (2000 and 2001).

This was also the final competition for Sultan Tucker as a Tiger. The native of Glassboro, NJ, finishes his career as a three-time All-American. Tucker was an All-American in 1999 (60m hurdles indoor), 2000 (60m hurdles indoor) and 2001 (60m hurdles indoor).
