Oct. 5, 2006

CLEMSON, SC–Tiger men’s tennis coach, Chuck Kriese, has signed three freshmen for the 2006-07 season.

The freshman class includes Gera Boryachinskiy, Carlos Alvarex and Tino Elgner.

German “Gera” Boryachinskiy, a towering 6’5″ native of Baltimore, MD, finished up his junior career with a National ranking of 45 in the Boy’s 18 and under division of USTA tennis.

Carlos Alvarez, from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, comes right off of the international circuit with great playing experience and several ATP points under his belt.

Rounding out the freshman roster is a native of Rostock, Germany, Tino Elgner who spent the last few years of high school in Georgetown, SC, and training with Dennis VanDerMeer on Hilton Head Island.

Coach Kriese is excited for the depth the new student-athletes will bring to the team. “When you bring in freshmen with their kind of competitive experience, they are going to push the top players on the team to reach another level,” said Kriese.
