Clemson Men’s Soccer Travels To NC State On Sunday

Clemson, SC – The 20th-ranked Clemson men’s soccer team will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to play NC State on Sunday at 2:00PM. The match will be the conference opener for both teams. Coming off two straight wins over Florida International and nationally ranked Notre Dame, the Tigers enter Sunday’s contest with a 3-2 overall record. NC State is 1-4 on the season.

Clemson holds a 25-10-6 all-time record against NC State, including last season’s 6-1 win over the Wolfpack on September 24 at Historic Riggs Field. In the 41 previous meetings, the Tigers have outscored NC State 129-56.

After five games, junior Dimelon Westfield leads the Tigers with nine points. Seniors Ross Goodacre and Ian Fuller, and sophomores Paul Souders and Steven Rhyne are tied for second on the team with seven points. Junior Doug Warren has started four out of the five games in goal for the Tigers and has a 1.05 goals against average for the season. In ten years of coaching, Head Coach Trevor Adair has compiled a 119-60-15 (.651) record including an 85-36-10 (.688) mark at Clemson.

NC State is led by Michael Karim who has two goals and four points for the season. In 16 seasons with the Wolfpack, Head Coach George Tarantini has a 154-105-29 overall record.
