Clemson Men’s Cross Country Team Competes In NCAA Pre-Meet

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Clemson men’s cross country team competed in the NCAA Pre-Meet held Saturday on the Furman Cross Country Course. The Tigers finished 27th of the 36 teams in the gold division 8K race. Colorado won the meet with 62 points, the University of Notre Dame was second with 172 points and the Air Force Academy finished third with 184 points.

Clemson was led by Scott Shaw who finished 63rd overall with a time of 25:29. Derrick Wyatt posted a 98th-place finish in 25:52, and Matt Gunn was 175th in 26:36. Travis Alexander completed the course in 26:37 to finish 177th, while Mike Barton and Matt Pimentel were 191st and 192nd in 26:52 and 26:55, respectively. David Smith finished 209th with a time of 27:35.

The Clemson men’s cross country team will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 27, as the Tigers play host to the ACC Cross Country Championships.
