QUICK FACTS • Clemson has held the opposition to just 94 points over the last two games, 50 by NC State and 44 by Florida State. The 94 points are the fewest allowed by Clemson in consecutive ACC games since the 1958-59 season. Clemson overcame a 19-point deficit in the win over NC State when it held the Wolfpack to just 16 points in the second half. The Tigers then held Florida State to just 18 points in the first half of last Saturday’s game. • Seniors Demontez Stitt or Jerai Grant have led, or at least tied for the team lead in scoring, in 10 consecutive games. • Stitt has scored 27 points in the first half of the last seven games combined and scored 82 points in the second half of those seven games combined. He has made 24-of-40 shots from the field and 23-of-25 from the free throw line in the second half of those last seven games. He has had more assists than turnovers in 11 straight games. • Brad Brownell has taken Clemson to a 4-3 ACC record so far this year. He is the first Clemson coach to win more than half of his first seven league games. • Clemson is a game ahead of its ACC pace of last year. Clemson was 3-4 in the ACC through seven league games last year. • Clemson had a 5-2 record in January, just the second winning record in January for the men’s basketball program since 1996-97. • Clemson ranks 20th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 60.3 points per game. In six of Brad Brownell’s previous eight years as a Division I head coach, his teams have finished the season in the top 25 nationally in scoring defense. • Clemson has won two in a row over Virginia, but both games were at Clemson. The Tigers are 1-1 all-time at John Paul Jones Arena. The victory came in Clemson’s first appearance in the building in 2007-08, an 82-51 victory that is Clemson’s largest margin of victory in an ACC road game. • Andre Young has made at least one three-point goal in 22 straight games, including all 21 this year. That is the longest active streak in the ACC. • Clemson improved from 93 to 69 in the NCAA RPI last week. The 24-place improvement was the best in the nation among schools who started last week in the top 100. • Clemson is shooting 77.3 percent in ACC play from the foul line. Eight of the nine players who have shot at least one free throw have hit at least 70 percent.
