It is the first time since Clemson joined the ACC that the Tigers have held three consecutive league teams to 50 points or less. It is the first time Clemson has done it overall since December of 1986 when the Tigers had a four-game streak. Horace Grant was the starting center on that Clemson team. His nephew, Jerai Grant, is the starting center on this Clemson team. • Demontez Stitt has scored 27 points in the first half of the last eight games combined and scored 90 points in the second half of those eight games combined. • Stitt will make his 100th career start at Georgia Tech. • Bill Foster was 3-3 at the midway point in 1975-76 when the ACC had just seven teams. • Clemson has allowed just 59.8 points per game, the best scoring defense in the ACC and 15th in the nation through games of Feb. 4. In six of Brad Brownell’s previous eight years as a Division I head coach, his teams have finished the season in the top 25 in scoring defense. • Andre Young has made at least one three-point goal in 23 straight games, including all 22 this year. That is the longest active streak in the ACC. • Clemson made 11-14 three-point shots, including 9-9 in the second half, in the first meeting with Georgia Tech. That game was played at Clemson on Jan. 12. Clemson shot 17-20 in the second half of that game, second best field goal percentage for a half in school history. • Tigers Andre Young are both from the state of Georgia. The classmates have combined to make 23-40 (.575) from the three-point line in their six games against Tech. • Jerai Grant scored 20 points against Georgia Tech in the first meeting thanks to 5-6 field goal shooting. It is his career high. • Clemson is 0-4 on the road in ACC games this year, but the Tigers have either been tied, or down just one point, inside the last three minutes of all four games.
